Plans. They’re made to be scaled back, reconfigured, redefined, and ultimately broken.
Translation: Sorry, but we won’t be able to do any more TUSK shows this year. We had hoped to do a few more East Coast shows in November, followed by a couple of West Coast performances, but our collective schedules just won’t allow it.
We fully intend to have a new show for anyone who’s interested in 2011. Can’t speak on the “where,” the “when,” and the “what” just yet. Hopefully we’ll have a pretty good idea before the year is out.
In the meantime, we’ll always have sweet, sweet memories. And the following videos from our Philadelphia show: “Over and Over,” “Beautiful Child” and a double-shot of “Tusk” and “Never Forget.”
And if we can take a moment for a little in-house self-promotion, the members of TLBAS are up to all kind of musical pursuits individually. Or in the case of Tony and Sam, collectively. They’re part of this swinging Mass.-based group called Jenny Dee & The Deelinquents who’s opening for some bands called Aerosmith and the J. Geils Band at some joint called Fenway Park on Aug. 14. Williams… Yastrzemski… Clemens… Nomahhh… Manny… GODDESS??!!
Birdie Busch recently did a version of the Soul Survivors’ “City of Brotherly Love” for an EP called Everyone Will Take You In that will stone you. She’s gigging summer-into-fall.
Dave Hartley will be on tour any minute now with a great Philly band called Buried Beds. They’ll be opening for mewithoutyou.
Charlie Hall can be heard getting sexy on the trap kit (this cat does it all) on the new Jens Lekman jam “The End of the World is Bigger Than Love.” Download it here.
And me (Patrick Berkery) is busy putting finishing percussive touches on a new Danielson record which is due next year, and playing live and/or recording with anyone who will have me. And I’m going to see Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers tomorrow. This makes me very happy.
More soon(ish),
