Lightning strikes, maybe once... maybe twice
There were several reasons we (as in me, P.B., and my co-architect in this TLBAS business Charlie Hall) were hesitant to get the band back together, as it were.
Tony and Sam Goddess (without their involvement, the 2010 TUSK shows never would’ve materialized) weren’t available for this go-round. Neither was bassman and TLBAS breakout star Dave Hartley, currently touring the world and...

Check out this sweet poster for the MIRAGE (and...
Happy to share this flyer/poster for next week’s MIRAGE (and more) shows, from the amazing Jess Rotter.
Happier to tell you Jess has produced an exclusive print to be sold only at these shows.
We’re not going to give away the print design, but trust us, it’s amazing. Or, should we say, “perfect.”
Jess has a sweet line of ’70s themed rock apparel at her...

Happy (belated) 35th birthday, RUMOURS!
A day late on this, but happy 35th birthday to Rumours.
One of these days, we will summon the necessary balance of courage, nerve, chutzpah, balls, moxie, and fearlessness to cover this one top-to-bottom.
But first we gotta get through MIRAGE (and more). Then maybe LAW & ORDER. And BUCKINGHAM/NICKS.

A brief update on the MIRAGE (and more) shows

Opener for Brooklyn: Dave Hill
Happy to announce that internationally renowned entertainer Dave Hill will be opening our show at Littlefield in Brooklyn on Sat. Feb. 18.
How can we best describe Dave? To put it in baseball parlance, he’s a five-tool player: musician, comedian, actor, raconteur, podcaster.
He’s also a good tipper.
Experience some Dave Hill for yourself here.

Opener for Philly: Pete Donnelly
Pete Donnelly, a member of the inimitable Figgs (who backed Graham Freakin’ Parker for a spell!), the legendary NRBQ, and veteran alt-rockers Soul Asylum will be opening our show at Johnny Brenda’s in Philadelphia on Friday, February 17.
Pete’s a fine solo artist in his own right with a brand new album out called When You Come Home. Check out Pete’s website for more info.

The Lindsey Buckingham Appreciation Society...
Nearly two years after they performed Lindsey Buckingham’s enduring creative statement, the 1979 Fleetwood Mac double-album TUSK, at shows in Boston, Brooklyn, and Philadelphia - joyous gigs that pleased both the old heads in faded Buckingham-Nicks bootleg tees and young’uns probably conceived while RUMOURS spun in the background - indie rock not-so-supergroup THE LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM...

Two shows in Feb. 2012
How ya doing? We’re doing just fine ourselves, thanks for asking.
Enough of the chit-chat, let’s get down to brass tacks.
We will have news very soon on two shows for February 2012. New set, slightly altered lineup, all good stuff.
Thanks so much for your patience. We hope to make it worth the wait.

See Charlie and Dave's glorious glee-club type...
As you may or may not know, TLBAS vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist Charlie Hall and bassist/vocalist Dave Hartley are members in good standing of a fairly fantastic and rather large (a baker’s dozen) all-male choral ensemble known as The Silver Ages. Every year just before or after the holidays they set up shop in a non-trad Philadelphia venue to make harmony and merry, drink drinks, offer sweets,...

TLBAS bass man Dave Hartley's solo debut drops...
Dave calls this waved out thing he’s doing on his own Nightlands.
Dave drops the Nightlands album Forget the Mantra tomorrow (11/9).
On vinyl.
I have heard it. It’s great late night driving music. Especially if you’re in the desert or on the PCH.
He covers the Beach Boys’ “‘Til I Die,” stunningly so.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINDSEY!!!!!!
We’re a day late and a dollar short with this greeting, but the members of The Lindsey Buckingham Appreciation Society would like to extend warm birthday wishes to Lindsey, who turned 61 on Sunday.
I wonder how Lindsey celebrates his birthday?
Olive Garden?
Famous Dave’s?
Attending a key party (and by that I mean a party where people gather to listen to Francis Scott Key...

What is, and what will hopefully be
Plans. They’re made to be scaled back, reconfigured, redefined, and ultimately broken.
Translation: Sorry, but we won’t be able to do any more TUSK shows this year. We had hoped to do a few more East Coast shows in November, followed by a couple of West Coast performances, but our collective schedules just won’t allow it.
We fully intend to have a new show for anyone...

Birdie on the TUSK experience
Our very own Birdie Busch shares her TUSK experience in words and photos on her blog.
She’s absolutely right. It is a wonder that kindreds such as us didn’t burst into phoenix flames.
That's all for everyone, for now
To everyone who came out to see us put our spin on the most punk rock soft rock album ever, thank you.
Cambridge was a bit of a clusterf#*k but totally spirited - the perfect way to kick things off. Brooklyn was beautiful and inspiring. And Philly blew our minds; just immeasurable joy on our end. Going into it, we had no idea how it would go down. I can’t imagine any of us thought this...
FINAL REMINDER: TLBAS performing TUSK
Hard to believe the shows start tomorrow. On our way to Gloucester, Mass. for a little last minute tune-up. Hope to see you at the shows.
Brooklyn is THISCLOSE to being sold out, so act now. Tix going fast for Cambridge and Philly as well, from what we hear.

It’s looking like this Sunday’s show (May 16) at Union Hall will be a sellout.

So we, the members of The Lindsey Buckingham Appreciation Society, strongly suggest buying your tickets in advance. And quickly.

Conversations with Mick!
Patrick here again. Time to spread the appreciation around a bit. Let’s talk Mick.
It’s no exaggeration to say that if not for Mick Fleetwood’s influence, my repertoire of drum fills and my overall approach to drumming would be greatly compromised. In my estimation, Mick’s one of the most underrated time-keepers in rock. He’s a master of tasty flourishes like the...

Info on the Cambridge, Mass. show
Our May 15 date at The Lizard Lounge in Cambridge is part of the club’s Cover Up Boston series. Preceding us will be three acts covering Mac: St. Helena, This Blue Heaven, and Old Jack. I’ve seen their respective set lists (had to make sure they weren’t doing anything off TUSK, you know) and they all feature some choice gems - even some Bob Welch era stuff.
It’s gonna be...

Seriously, What’s Up With That??
Whoever is behind inserting a mute Lindsey Buckingham (played by Bill Hader) as an apropos-of-nothing prop in these Saturday Night Live sketches is pretty clever.
And they’re clearly an astute observer of Lindsey and Fleetwood Mac. They’ve got Hader decked out in the exact same outfit Lindsey wore on the last Mac tour.
New date added!
Happy to announce we’re playing Union Hall in Brooklyn, NY on Sunday, May 16.
More details soon.
Conversations with Lindsey
Hey, it’s Patrick again. So, in addition to playing the drums, I’ve done some music writing over the years. Not so much these days. But there was a time in the not too distant past where I’d be reviewing three concerts a week, and chasing that with a couple of album reviews and a 500-word preview of the Coheed and Cambria show. I am not even embellishing this a little bit.
Much...
